Established in 1973, when Len Bateman opened his first Studios in Cathays, Cardiff. Within only a few years he became one of High Key the leading photographers in Wales. In 1980 he was awarded the Fellowship of the Master Photographers Association, the first in Wales to achieve their highest award. Len has run three very successful studios in the UK and now lectures wedding photography to fellow professionals,attracting delegates worldwide.

Being Professional Wedding Photographers for over thirty five years, we have a wealth of experience in photographing weddings. Our services are much in demand and take us all over the world.

Natalie is our other professional photographer who will be handling your inquiries and assisting you during your wedding day. She has been training with Len for the past few years and is building up her own style of wedding photography. She will be capturing your special moments during your day in a reportage style. YOUR WEDDING DAY

We as Wedding Photographers do not take over your wedding day, but let it flow, capturing the moments as they happen. We do not treat it as a photo shoot but approach it in a more phot Natalie journalistic style. We want you to relax to be yourselves and enjoy the day. We discuss the day with you, about a month before the wedding , deciding what you want on your day and to work out any required groups that you wish us to take. We work with great speed and efficiently, so that there is no disturbance to the flow of the day (Its traditional that at every wedding there are some family photographs taken!). At times you might not even know we are there, but we produce over many beautiful photographs for you to choose from!

It is the way that we work that we don't produce package deals, we like to capture the things that will only ever happen on your wedding day, that will make your wedding different from everyone else's.

Len is the only Fellow with the Master Photographers Association in both Video and Stills in the UK. He is also one of only a handful of Fellows with the Society of Wedding and Portraiture Photographers in the world. Len has photographed over two thousand weddings and find that every Bride has her own ideas on how she wishes her day to be and the type of photographs that she has in mind. This we know is extremely important and by getting together before the wedding day we can work out exactly what is wanted. We also place importance on the timing of the wedding photographs and that the wedding guests are not kept waiting and that the day is allowed to flow. It is the way we work on the day that has given us our reputation.

Sunset Just a few brief notes that might help you on your Wedding day. Firstly don't be put off by the weather. We are used to handling difficult weather conditions, and with over thirty years experience we have handled many! We would have made alternative arrangements with the hotel or church to use their facilities in such an event.. We have covered a few rainy Weddings and its FUN. This is your day and it will only happen once in your life, so enjoy it whatever the conditions!

The Story Book Wedding:

A Wedding album bound and finished as a book, a perfect way of presenting your Wedding photographs. Images are combined in an unique layout that blend into each other producing a timeless and priceless family heirloom to be forever treasured.

ENGAGEMENT PORTRAIT.

This will be an informal sitting, where we will take a selection of different studies of you both at our Studios. What this actually does is to break the ice, so to speak, getting to know Len. We find this works very well, as its nothing worse that to have a complete stranger turn up on your Wedding day taking pictures! Nothing can beat a friendly smile when you first both arrive at the church. This service is with our complements.

THE REQUIRED LIST.

Shortly before your Wedding we will be sending you a detailed list of some of the photographs that can be taken on your Wedding day. We will ask you both to make an appointment, when you need to come into the Studios to discuss the final details. What we do is to run through the day with you, making a list of the photographs that will be required. We then organize this best approach to cover that selection in the best possible time.

REPORTAGE.

We take pictures of everything that happens on your wedding day, not just the "required list". We look for images that will only ever happen on your day. We can produce images that will surprise, capturing the emotion of the day.

There is so much that will happen if the day is allowed to flow, we are on the look out for anything unusual, for example, the Groom having a cigarette at the church, only for the Bride to find out afterwards and say he does not smoke! The Pageboy blowing his nose in the back of the Brides dress! The mothers feet sticking out from under the Brides dress, trying to sort it out!

On another day the Dad stood on the back of the Brides dress as they got out of the car and the look on his daughters face! We got the shot. Or the two little Bridesmaids sharing out the confetti! We got that shot too. The Bride would not have known anything about these small things that just happen on her day, but its some of the best moments that she could ever have, because they only ever happened on her wedding day. This is what makes our photography so special. Its something that cannot be planned, it will just happen.
